Showzam! Blackpool's Festival of Circus, Magic & New Variety
8-24 February 2008

http://www.showzam.co.uk

Be thrilled, excited, amazed and entertained by Blackpool's first 2 week festival of circus, magic and new variety. There's something for everyone from free events and exhibitions, to adult shows and workshops - so decide what's for you, your friends and family and plan your visit.

Insect Circus and Travelling Circus Museum

Dancing snails, trained butterflies, wasp tamers, the bearded ladybird, Tallulah the worm charmer, and balancing dung beetles – robotic of course! This exquisite and endearing piece of theatre emerged as a response to the banning of animals in today’s circuses. In addition to the performances, the travelling circus museum will be in town, charting the history of the insect circus and exhibiting costumes, props and advertising materials spanning three centuries.

Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 February 1pm and 3pm
Pleasurebeach Blackpool, Horseshoe Showbar
