St Marys Lighthouse

while i was there i must include st marys lighthouse which is an excellent preserved structure,no longer used as a lighthouse but as a tourist attraction. You are able to climb to the top via a spiral then an additional tight staircase to the top for excellent views over the sea and coast and even better its only £6.50 for a family of 4 (please note because its on a walkway out to sea it can be closed somedays due to tidal conditions

Thanks for those! I've just inherited a very nice watercolor of this, so it's great to see the pics!

I'm ashamed to say I've never been inside, so this has spurred me on to go.

I like this lighthouse, I've been up to the lamp room ! but I hate those stairs (Souter's are nicer)

On the other side of the country is Southerness Light - quite a difference !
