There's been a big rise in the number of Christmas visitors to a theme park which is under threat of closure.
The owners of Metroland in Gateshead's Metrocentre revealed plans last year to modernise the blue and yellow malls there. They included a proposal to get rid of Metroland and move the cinema onto that site. It sparked protests from its staff who now say the number of people who visited over Christmas was up by eleven thousand this year to a record 89 thousand.
