Windows Live Aerial Views

Postby troy » 09 Jan 2007, 17:41

I seem to have got quite addicted to looking at aerial views of my favorite places now that Windows Live has released a 3D version so here are a few topical ones. You can drag the image around with your mouse (be patient to fill the image) and zoom in with the mouse wheel. I don't think you need any software or plugins but if you have difficulty try http://maps.live.com

The Scenic, Margate

Runaway Coaster (Rotunda), Folkestone

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Southport Pleasureland (Pre clearance)

If anyone can find anymore of interest, Thorpe, Coney, Barry Island etc etc perhaps you can add them to this thread.

Kind Regards

Troy

Edit. Actually AJ some of those images can be improved by going to "birds eye view" from the 2D menu.

Such as

Southend

http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2& ... ne=7732154

Yarmouth

http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2& ... ne=7664369

Brighton Pier

http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2& ... ne=4352909

Not all have mapped in such detail though.

Yeah did notice that also the 3D views tend to be quite a bit older. The view of Dreamland is from 1999!
