The other listed amusement ride - East Park Waterchute

Postby porf » 03 Jun 2007, 20:13

I got to have a quick look at the other listed UK amusement ride today. The Grade II listed 1929 Wicksteed Waterchute in Hull's East Park.

It's smaller than I expected, not a patch on the Scenic and not really worth a 4 hour drive each way (OK - I was in Hull for another reason!). But it's pretty amazing that something like this could survive this long in a public park.

I couldn't find out in advance when/if it runs and unfortunately it wasn't running today - but I got a few photos anyway.

Thanks for that! It's a place I intend to visit also.

Update :

A colleague of mine phoned up today to see when it opens as he's up there later in the year.

The response was - "No current opening date as they haven't recruited any seasonal staff yet"
