Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach "Scenic" Railway

Postby porterm » 30 Jun 2008, 01:31

I'm not sure if this has ever been posted before, but I've always wanted to catch a shot of the current Pleasure Beach "Roller Coaster" in its scenic guise. This is apparently from 1960; http://yarmouth.things.cc/db/item.aspx? ... 6167653D39

It reminds me of seeing the former Scenic at Barry Island in the early seventies, standing but not operating, around 1973 I think, a year after the Battersea Big Dipper fatal accident.

Fantastic photograph - thanks for posting it. I don't want to nit-pick, but that is actually the Roller Coaster in its current guise with a scenic painting. The original mountain scenery was quite different and I have a number of old photos of it which I must dig out sometime.
