Oakwood theme park has admitted breaching health and safety laws over the death of a teenage visitor more than four years ago.
The case went ahead in spite of the company refusing to plea. They now face very severe penalties. The charge accused the park of “failing to conduct its undertaking in such a way as to ensure, so far as was reasonably practicable, that persons not in its employment, including Hayley Williams and Martin Rothwell, were not exposed to risks to their health and safety”. Potentially the directors could face a prison sentence.
