New Belle Vue Manchester - proposals being put to government

Postby Mancfire » 27 Aug 2008, 23:01

Hi all

Thought you might be interested in this, after Manchester lost out on the Super Casino, it appears that a group are proposing that the land should be used to build a new Belle Vue including amusement park. I certainly think this is a great idea and would appeal to a much wider audience than the Supercasino ever would have. Links are below. Now if only they's include getting someone like GCI to rebuild the Bobs in the plan!

Manchester Evening News Article:

Website of the group putting forward the proposals to the government:

What do you all think?

Great idea to attract tourist to Manchester.

There was originally a big wooden rollercoaster on that site but that was torn down, despite a 50,000 signature petition.

I think it closed in 1980. There was a zoo there as well
