Blackpools Decline Continues

Postby Bob » 07 Jan 2009, 22:55

The once mighty Blackpool continues to struggle to halt the decline in visitor numbers. Whilst still one of the UK's largest resorts it faces serious problems as visitor numbers continue to plummet and visitors are staying for shorter periods and spending less.

In the 1980@s Blackpool attracted over 20 Million visitors a year but by 2007 this had droped to 9.5 Million and 2008 looks to have seen numbers fall below 9 million

That's an anmazing video. It must have been filmed for the cinema.

The park looked very themed and upmarket n those days, surprisingly.

It was would have been built in the days when only the rich people used to go there.

As for the new charges, it's total madness to do it now, but that's another story in another thread!
