BPB Rollercoaster - good news WOW!

Postby timj » 19 Nov 2009, 17:39

Firstly - hello I'm new!

Rollercoaster appears to be being repaired, rather than demolished.
There's pics on another site

Unbelievable, I'm sitting here in tears I cannot believe it

Wasn't actually aware it was due for demolition, or I would have strapped myself to it... along with many others...

well as you know it has been officially SNBO this season
not on the park / guide maps any more

also its next to space invader

finally it was reported on Tues night on PBR Experience forum and on Wed on Live from B'pool that the wall next to it had been demolished presumably for access to it (which is still true!)
It looked deffo a goner

The wall removal did have me worried for a bit but the pictures of them replacing wood sections means all is well.

As probably a bi-annual visitor to the park I never really had much time for Rollercoaster. Yes I'd ride it, but the National and Dipper were always more exciting. But what a difference those old Dipper trains made to Rollercoaster !

I would say it's now the best wooden coaster in this country.

It really has just got better and better while the National has gone backwards, what with the useless brakes and those new heavy trains after the fire.

Regards and welcome timj

this is good news indeed!
bpb have got rid of too many good older rides and i always maintain the management there don't realise how many people love some of the wooden rollercoasters.
there are too few left in the uk now.
i will make an effort to go to the pleaure beach now just to ride the rollercoster!

I love The Rollercoaster,it was closed when I went this year in early July. But the year before I had my best ever ride on it,you must get the very back seat for some air time.I hope it never goes, hopefully more people would have tried it this year due to The Big Dipper being closed.

timj: Welcome to the forums! :)

The Rollercoaster is closing rumour certainly had me worrying this year.

A very reliable source though confirms what EAS stated in an earlier post i.e. that all is well for now:

"..nothing to worry about. The wall had deteriorated badly and needed replacing, hence the work now taking place..."
