Fantastic Southport Peter Pan's Fair Footage!!

Postby Gary » 18 Mar 2011, 09:36

Everything I have been after in a Southport Clip from the sixties: :D

Peter Pan's showing The Jigsaw Railway and the kids' coaster (I always remember it being called the Alpine Coaster but I believe it may have been called The Wendy Glide at some stage) and other rides from those long hot summer days of my childhood including the wonderful Dive Bomber (mini Captive Flying Machine) ride.

There are clips from Pleasureland also: The Big Bowl Slide, The Flying Saucers turning on both axes and others..

The middle bit then shows Southport Lord Street and the open air pool and comes back to The Jigsaw Railway around 9 mins.

12 mins of Total Heaven!

This is what YouTube is all about. :D

Enjoy!!

Please pass through the turnstiles if you are riding again.

From the clothes and the cars I'd say this is a compilation of clips filmed (from the fuzziness must be super 8) between the late 50s and summer 1973 when the short lived Blackpool-Southport hovercraft service operated.
