Giant Drop Refused Planning Permission

Postby Nick » 16 Feb 2003, 20:51

The Joyland Books News page is reporting that the Giant Drop, which was to have moved from the Trocadero to Funland Amusement Park at Hayling Island has been refused planning permission. This follows Brighton and Hove Council's refusal of BPB-style twin boosters on Brighton Pier. Yet again, a council refuses major investment in an amusement park. Funland were to have invested £1m this year - that would have brought people in to Hayling Island and boosted other businesses. There seems to be an increasing problem of councils turning away major investment at seaside amusement parks. I hope they appeal the decision.
