THEME park fans will get the chance to see the secret work done to improve Southport’s Pleasureland when the doors to the park reopen this weekend.
And ahead of the launch owner Norman Wallis revealed why he is keen to invest in the seaside town and how he thinks it can boost its image as England’s ‘Classic Resort’.
Pleasureland has been entertaining families for almost a century and Mr Wallis feels the theme park is an integral factor in Southport’s appeal.
He said: “What is a classic resort without rides and attractions?
“There have been rides and attractions here for well over 100 years with Pleasureland moving to its current site 90 years ago.
Before these diversions arrived it was little more than a fishing village.
