Scenic Railway

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Bob seems to have gone a bit quiet lately.

Towards the end of the property bubble, scores of retail units and hundreds of flats were going to be built at Dreamland and sold to imaginary people who would have had no way of repaying the loan on Thanet wages.

Two years ago, it was said that the Dreamland site was worth £30,000,000. The thought that it might be worth a sixth of that now is laughable.
