I don't normally make a habit of looking the windows of funeral directors (!) but on Saturday morning - 7 Feb - I was in Westgate and happened to come by the office of Gore Brothers, two doors down from the Boots store and opposite the former Bridge pub. In the dead centre of town you might say - sorry had to get that one in!
Its windows currently contain a couple of photos of Lord George, one of his wagons as well as a number of written panles outlining his life and death. It turns out that Gore Bros handled the Thanet end of his funeral arrangements - a long established firm obviously.
Worth a quick look if you're passing (but not passing on, I hope) but it struck me some of the words and phrases in the panels were a little familiar to me?
