Leyland Tiger mini coaches

hello everyone, was recently looking through some of my grandads old stuff and came across photos of him and my nan standing next to mini ride on leyland tiger coaches think the year is about 1959,my grandad was an engineer and was making enquires to purchase one all them years ago does anyone know if any are still in exsistenace? Ive been informed about 60 were produced many thx to you all p.s. LONG LIVE DREAMLAND !!!!!!

Sixty-three were built between 1935 and 1959 and seventeen are thought to survive. There's a nice pic of one on p51 of "Dreamland Remembered", next to a full-sized coach, although this does not appear to be a Leyland Tiger.


EDIT. For the purpose of reviewing Nick Evans' book, Dreamland Remembered, which I thoroughly recommend, I have scanned the photo and post it here, although I am uncertain about the copyright status of the photo and apologise in advance if it has to be removed.

Hello

Nick Evans has asked me to reply here, as he's away from his usual computer and unable to log on. He says:

"If the gent concerned ventures south from Bromley one weekend, he should aim for the village of Rolvenden where he will find a small motor/motorbike museum. The man who runs it is quite elderly but when I went he very kindly wheeled out the one (possibly two) from the sheds at the rear of his premises. This was about three years ago so I hope the museum is still operational. It would be worth Googling first and making contact before travelling.

"The Rolvenden bus was built with an Austin Seven engine, if I remember rightly.

"On the Dreamland mini bus, I do have another shot of it and hope to include in my next book (Dreamland Reprised) when I get around to writing it!"

I hope he's making enough from royalties to pay my secretarial fees!

Ooh golly we used to own a Leyland Royal Tiger about 28 years ago. Full size though.

I have no idea where it ended up.
