When the Bembom Brothers took over Dreamland in the early eighties, they brought in loads of new rides of the kind not really seen before in this country.
The whole park was transformed in a couple of years to one of the best in the country. Existing rides such as Britains tallest Big Wheel, the Water Chute and the legendary Scenic Railway were complimented by a host of new generation thrill rides like the Looping Star, the Mary Rose, the Enterprise and the Pirate Ship.
Those were truly great days. However, more than ten years later and nothing really changed, there were no new major thrill rides and although the park was still packed with great rides, the park had remained largely unchanged. When I look at their Parkware website today and also at Loudon Castle, it seems that they are not moving with the times and are offering the same selection of rides that they did 20 years ago.
Don't get me wrong, the Bembom Brothers did an excellent job of running Dreamland and installed some truly great rides.
It is just that I would have expected them to be offering something new or different these days. Maybe they are no longer the force that they were back then...
