Happy new year to all

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Happy new year to all

Ive been watching the board for ages now but this is my first post.
Lets hope 2005 is the year that the South East finally saves it's only remaining Woodie!
I live close to Thorpe and Chessington but I'm afraid the two overated steel coasters at Thorpe just dont do it for me, there's nothing like a wooden coaster and we need more down here not less!

Good luck to eveyone in their campaign and have a happy new year!

(lets hope the Runaway gets a home too before it's too late)

Happy New Year to everybody, and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we'll be meeting up with some of you again this year.

Special thanks to Nick Laister, without whom the SR would already be demolished.

Happy New Year

Postby porterm » 02 Jan 2005, 04:02

Hello everyone,

May I say a slightly belated Happy New Year to all on the Campaign (well, I was out mildly celebrating last night!)

Welcome comments from Marky66; I quite agree that woodies are generally much more fun than their steelie counterparts and we certainly have a severe lack of them in the South East, and of course the Scenic is a very unique example. Don't be a stranger to the message board now; you can post all you want!

Like Vince said, hopefully we can all look forward to many meet-ups again for the 2005 season in Margate.

Martin

Happy New Year to everyone, not posted on here for a while as it's been pretty quiet.

Here's hoping for some good news this year, and I will be almost certainly getting down to Margate this year, hopefully to take my family to Dreamland, a visit which has been a long time coming for me! Can't wait!

See you soon,
Dan
