The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Great photos Vince. It was 2003 they were taken. I can tell by the colours of the railings and back of station. Also the Save the Scenic and Save Dreamland posters that are dotted around.
Please dont waffle our Walter !

I can hardly stand to look at them knowing some jerk murdered the dragons.
Don't you guys have a "most wanted" program where crimes are profiled and they encourage people to call in anonymously with information? Someone has to know something. Somebody bragged about their handy-work, and those who listened would likely talk for a little reward money.

It is rather sad, looking at those photos realising some corrupt being has killed the spirit of the ride.
Hopefully when is rebuilt it will come back stronger than ever
Also hope theres going to be good security surrounding the ride and park.

on the plus side there are enough pictures to get the dragons carved and there must still be skilled workmen (all be it older)who could do it

Jim - We have Crimestoppers over here (
http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/) but given the police confirmed it as as a case of arson (
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/kent/7335985.stm) at Dreamland nearly 3 years ago I suspect there's little chance of someone finding a conscience now.
Kevin - There's better than photos

While not necessarily from Margate there are a couple of dragons still about of the same heritage. When not supporting cups of coffee they may be available for brief modelling assignments!

Yes, Kevin, we are all being very nice to Paul. We might even make him a few cups of coffee ourselves to make sure he stays on side!
