Margate Air Show

Postby porterm » 24 Feb 2005, 00:18

Hi all,

I heard on the local TV news last week (BBC South East I believe) that there is to be an EUjet sponsored airshow over Margate's beach in June this year. Sadly, I didn't catch the exact date it is planned for, although I believe it was around the 25th of June. Perhaps someone can clarify this.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to attract more visitors to Dreamland that day, especially if the show is free. Perhaps some beachside Dreamland promotion can be arranged for that day.

I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts on this, and has this event started to get any local promotion yet?

Hi Martin, according to this weeks Thanet Adscene newspaper it will be on the weekend June 18th and 19th. It also says " Manston based budget airline EUJet is the leading sponsor with a rumoured £50,000 investment "

Shame our local council cant get their arses into gear to save a major tourist attraction that we already know to be a success!

Margate Airshow

Hello Dave,

Many thanks for that info. Hopefully this event will become an annual event, like the Southend Airshow, which brings in many thousands of people. (Just wondered if EUjet will be flying any Fokker aircraft over the event in light of their recent drama?)

Hopefully I'll be back from the states in time if the event takes place over the 18-19 June weekend.

I agree of course with your comment re TDC.
