Whats going on? Dreamland on or off for Saturday

Hi,
I have been told that Dreamland may not be ready to open on saturday, Do you think we are getting a negative from Mr ayers as he may be getting paid if the rides are used or not?

I was informed by Merdian Television today that Dreamland may not open on Saturday as it may not be ready. If that is the case, there could be a lot of disappointed people, especially if people have travelled a long especially for Dreamland. Hopefully it will be open.

maybe not all of the rides are all set up etc.most obvious thing.im sure nick will let us know when he knows himself

After just calling the number on the posters i can confirm according to information given that the park will not be open this weekend, the guy that answered the phone possibly Harry said the park will be open next Friday the 27th at 12 noon, I know there will be a lot of dissapointed people that had planned to come down and support the park this weekend.

I have my opinions regarding how the park is being run this year and people who know me well are well aware of them but I think its best that I keep them to myself on here, people can make their own judgements without my opinions influencing them,

Having looked at the comments, on the forum about the Dreamland opening, and having looked at the site today [Friday] with rides still being installed, the site is no where near ready to open to the public. I have left a message today with Nick, because I understand that the main entrance to Dreamland on the sea front will NOT be the entrance to the Fun Park, you will be able to walk down the tunnel as I still now it or the Mall and the doors athe end will be closed. This part of Dreamland is still being operated by Mr. Godden. To gain entrance to the Park you will have to go into the car park, [not the car park by the tall flats] but the Dreamland Car Park and then pay for entry into the rides etc. if this changes I will keep members informed.

Might be just as well having just seen the state of the current climate outside today. Hopefully if the park opens next Friday the weather will also be more favourable (unless it's dry in Margate now!)

I also sincerely hope that there won't be too many disappointed guests arriving owing to the park's promotional material in circulation.

Well, here's a quote from the main page.


"Mr Ayers said that he has been disappointed by a lack of support from the Council and the people of Margate, including members of the Save Dreamland Campaign, in helping to clear up the site"


Personally, I think Mr Ayers has a bit of a nerve. None of us is psychic, and I didn't notice him asking for any help in getting the park ready. It's a bit of a cheek to start blaming us for his inefficiency, and I personally think that the only effect that this comment has had is to alert us to his dishonesty and unsuitability to run Dreamland.

Ayres has said that he would leave Dreamland tomorrow if he could. and I think we should all support him in this desire.

i think that comment about mr ayers is out of order vince.if it wasnt for harry ayers,there probably wouldnt be a an opening of the park at all.we should be very grateful.fair enough the park wont be opening on time,but there may be circumstances where he may have had problems with delivery of rides.lets all be grateful that harry ayers is here this season at all.in my opinion i would rather have an opening park rather than having dreamland empty

I can see where Vince is coming from, but also agree that Harry has enabled the park to be open this year. It was however his task to prepare the park and not members of this community.

Am I supposed to get my crystal ball out to know that the park needed cleaning, and then get on my broom and fly down to clean up? Or am I supposed to jump in the car, drive for 4 hours (round trip) to do some sweeping at my own expense?

I suggest the matter is best dropped, but it's not this community's responsibility to clean up the park, without authorisation and without insurance cover!
