Toby expressed disappointment with the current state of the park and informed us that he had been hoping for rather more than has been delivered. He confirmed that the Big Wheel is leaving Margate for two weeks in the middle of June, and his expectation is that it will return.

My prediction is that if it goes, it won't be coming back.

Well it hasn't been a good start now has it, but at work and college seems people are talking about it and alot of people have been on it. Surpose Waterbridge will have to prove that the park will be up to support it soon as possible (seeing the park is meant to open before the ride is due to leave).

I suspect it will return but will be within the park boundaries where it can be supported by and offer support to the other rides that are being installed.

So what rides are on site now?

Well we've know for a while that the Big Wheel would be going for a couple of weeks which I guess is perfectly understandable, but whether or not it returns may depend on how profitable it has been so far (has it seemed busy?).

Having said that many people will have already lost confidence in the park this year. Last season the park was criticised for not opening reliably and I guess the same will be said this year. The first couple of weeks will be a real test with it having to prove itself and it won't be a great start to be without the park's second biggest ride just as it is trying to establish itself. Ofcourse we know its supposed to come back, but the public might not. The public might also worry that other rides could leave too (although I suppose that could encourage people to visit while they're there).

My final point is that even when the park is open it will be a start, but there will still be a lot that needs doing. They seemed to have fairly ambitious marketing plans and with us fast approaching the longest day it would be good to see them kick off (although ofcourse they can't until the park is ready to open) and they also said there would be live entertainment (other than the events). Not sure whether this will be a dissappointment, but it could make the difference between people feeling a dayout was worthwhile and a waste of time.
