The Local Plan

Postby stuart » 01 Jun 2006, 17:01

Is anyone able to answer this?

If/when the local plan is adopted with the option C amendment is that set in stone?

I'm sure i read somewhere that the local plan is set for a specific period of time with no alterations possible. What about if there is a change of leadership at TDC?

Thanks in advance.

Once adopted, the Plan becomes the statutory Development Plan for Thanet. But the Council have already commenced work on the next plan, which will be called a Local Development Framework (all Local Plans are being phased out to be replaced by LDFs). The Thanet Local Plan will probably be in force for about three years, before being replaced.

The Plan we have at the moment isn't all bad either. As it stands, the policy will allow the Council (of whatever administration) to refuse permission for unacceptable development if it wishes to refuse it. In fact, the policy is so vague that the Council could pretty much make any decision it like!

lol ya but that can be a good and a bad thing, the way things have been heading in the past. But even though sometimes i wonder how the current TDC members are still there, it seems they can't be all bad (can they?)
