Funny, I used to love those festive light sets when I was a kid. I always remember my Mum bought a 35 set of Pifco bells from a catalogue. I believe that set only finally failed a few years ago - quality or what? (I expect it was likely only a loose wire or something - I used to resolder the connections years ago to repair them but it was time consuming finding the faulty lamp holder etc)

On this topic though, did anyone see the latest "Deck the Halls" film with Danny Devito? I thought it was funny how there were a few Christmas market films this season - quite rare these days I felt. It wasn't a film to much write home about but I thought it was pretty enjoyable and his house was quite a sight for sure! Catch it if you can still.

You think that thing is taking up space... I collect jukeboxes! I have 6 of them right now, but not all at home. One at my sister's, one at work, two on location, and 2 in the garage.

As for the lights, we're on 120 volt AC here, so the series lights I collect are the old 15 volt, 8 in series. You guys had the same thing, only with 16 lamps on a set instead of 8.

Oh, we've gone off topic, but at least we know people are checking out the forum every day despite the lack of newsworthy material.

1971 Seeburg USC2. Was on location in a gym. The gym closed last week, so now it's in my garage.


1962 Seeburg LPC1. I sold this one, but my sister has my first jukebox, which is the exact same model.


As long as we're completely off topic, here's a photo of me at the world premier (by invitation) of Herbie: Fully Loaded in Hollywood, right in front of the famous Chinese Theatre. The cars belong to members of my on line community. We had a total of 18 Herbies show up.

Oh, we've gone off topic, but at least we know people are checking out the forum every day despite the lack of newsworthy material.

To be honest, I don't think that going "off-topic" really matters overmuch.

I personally see this forum as a kind of pub, or bar, where we all meet up from time to time.

Of course, our common interests are Dreamland and the Scenic Railway, but at the end of the day, we are different people with differing interests and it's good to read about what other people do. Most of us seem to have other interests which invoke common themes- machinery, history, the importance of recognising and preserving our heritage....

I'm always curious about Bob. I'm sure that if you asked him, his list of interests would start and end with "making money". Of course, he is welcome to disabuse me of this opinion....

I do have a Rock-Ola, but it's a 474 from 1978. Makes about a dollar a day for me on location.
