Some of Margate's old rides

hi i was just watching the jolly boys outing on dvd and was wondering if anyone had any info on a particular ride.Amongs the scenic and water chute in happier times was a large planet shaped ride with what looked like alien capsules revolving around it,this ride still exists at loudoun castle but its now a chairoplane ride does nick or co have any info on what it was originally ps in the hotel they stayed was a flyer on the wall for sarahs very own shell groto

It was originally an Apollo 14 ride before the Bembom Bros converted it to the chairswing ride (the Heatwave).

You could also see another of my favourite ex-Dreamland rides (The Schwarzkopf Zepellin) on the Jolly Boys Outing film.

Did you notice how the halfway house (between London and Margate) was the Roman Galley on the Thanet Way, and they drove up towards Cliftonville and back into Margate before visiting Dreamland? lol

Loudoun Castle is definately worth a visit - loads of the old rides from S.E. Kent are there. There's a Looping Star, Mary Rose, Troika, Enterprise, Heatwave, Bounty Ship (ex-Rotunda)... even that naff indoor "water" ride!

how much of the zepellin survives i know one gondola does but are there any of the mechanical parts left. i will probasbly visit loudoun again in the summer so ill post some picts of dreamlands old rides

I don't think any of the ex-Dreamland zepellin survives (besides the gondola that recently sold on eBay).

The other zepellin that was built has now been converted to an observatory type ride.

Yes I'm definately going back up to Loudoun again this year, well cheap tickets and you can convert Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

talking of old rides does anyone know if a skywheel still exists anywhere?
