Have to agree with EAS on this.
It is now becoming very widely known that The Scenic is the only listed coaster in this country, which seems to have had the effect of slightly shocking those who thought that their own favorite historical coaster had some protection.
Since the whole Southport thing blew up, I've seen many threads on various forums enquiring about the status of Big Dipper, Grand National and Wild Mouse etc etc , the upshot being that they could be ripped down tomorrow all at the sayso of one person.
There are many links on those threads back to Joyland Books. A lot of younger people frequent such boards who would never of even heard of The Scenic if such "off topic" threads hadn't appeared here.
So, overall, it's a good thing as The Scenic and Nicks' campain will act as a blueprint for others.
