Dreamland gift shop

Postby dave771 » 23 Jun 2004, 13:15

Hi Chris,

When the park was run by Bembom Brothers there was a gift shop in the main entrance which is now the mall arcade, it was situated next to Mick Tomlinsons model of the park,

Looping Star Land Useage

Postby porterm » 28 Jun 2004, 03:00

Hi all,

I don't wish to sound argumentative or anything, but as far as I remember, on my last Bemboms-run visit in 1995, the Looping Star site was transformed into the themed crazy golf area when Godden took control for the 1996 season. I actually thought it was one of the only good new features of the new diminished looking park. I never wanted to return again after I paid a one-off visit in 1996, just to discover a vast paved area where the water chute previously stood. I thought it was very sad, and my friends also fully agreed. Obviously the sign of things to come.

The crazy golf attraction reminded me of the ones seen all around Florida, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. Apparently this facility fell into somewhat disrepair in later years and was apparently demolished in the recent past.

To Martin ,i totaly agree with your statement but with out the save dreamland campaign we cannot recreate those memorable years that we all spent there with our familes. what the park needs is a commited owner that will bring the park in to the 21st century. There is evidence of this happening as there is several owners interested.Including Phillip miller owner of Treasure island at southend. Please get back to me about this
