I'll do my best to upload those photos I took, although I must admit to not really having any real experience in this. (Perhaps you can advise me of the easiest way to do this - I believe I have to load them onto something like flickr or photo website first of all)..

I use photobucket, you have to register, but it's quick and free and very easy to use.


From the top right of your homepage, click the green button marked "upload images and videos", then locate the image you want to post on your pc from the menu which appears, and open it .

When done, your pic will appear on your homepage, with four different options of how to use it, select the bottom one, "IMG Code". It will look like this




The reason that did not appear as an image is that I have inserted a space in it (in the word albums) and this has broken it. If I remove that space and paste the IMG Code again...

Think outside the box.

Sure, for example, the Viper isn't old, but it's a 40+ year old design.
It's also compact and family friendly.
Things like this could be acquired when they're cheep, then resold as something better comes up.

Take what you can get when you can get it. These coasters easily dismantled. When it does come time to sell it, it can be sold as a working attraction with recent maintenance.

I would think it would be better to open an impressive park filled with fun stuff rather than one with empty spaces waiting to be filled with stuff that may never materialize. Change is good, too. Nothing like replacing something cool with something super cool.

Yes, I agree, from the word "Go" the park should be full of rides, and as time progresses, the less popular ones can be sold and replaced with rides which are more suitable to the intention of running a heritage park.

We can't look at this through rose-tinted spectacles, Dreamland needs to be economically viable as well as appealing to the interest of purists.

Um, those rides are on eBay with no reserve. They're under obligation to sell to the highest bidder.

Standard get-out clause is present, whilst probably against Ebay's rules it's likely to be tricky/expensive to contest :

RIDES ADVERTISED ELSEWHERE SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME

With that in place they could pull the auction 20 seconds before it's finish time and argue they're within the contract. I hate auctions like that, really goes against the whole point of auctions!

You can legally withdraw a sale from eBay until the moment the hammer falls, same as with any other type of auction.

As a regular seller of unusual items on eBay, I can tell you that you have to keep your nerve until the bitter end. I've won some and lost some.


Regardless of what has been bid for these rides in the previous ten days, the action will all go on in the very last minute and in the dying seconds.

Yes, dear, but not bidding because the owner might pull the auction is a cop out.

In a situation like this, they're obviously looking to unload as much as possible as soon as possible for anything they can get.

Looks like the major rides have all been withdrawn from auction now.

the rumour is true they are opening but its under new ownership and the source is a member of ukrides forum who lives not far away from the park

It is not under new owership. The park will be leased to showman Vernon Studt for the season. He has asked for most of the rides to be removed, but may operate the Log Flume and Haunted Mine. The park is still owned by Ian Rogers.

Many thanks for the photobucket advice. Sorry for the delay but when I get a few minutes (hopefully) I'll attempt to upload those shots I took.

You may well require some patience though sadly as things have been really busy of late, and it's my Dad's birthday meal tomorrow.
