dreamland will reopens at Easter

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

If they are using travelling rides then these can generally be built within a day. I haven't seen a list of rides for this year though, does anyone know what is likely to be there?

If its a travelling fair again there going to be on the same scale as last season, im only 15 and when i was a little bit younger i used to love going to margate walking through the arcade entrance and going into the dogems and so forth, now all i get to look forward for is a travelling fair ride which i can get down the road on this weekends fair.

We understand that Matt but we are all thinking in the long term. It took Mr Godden ten years to turn Dreamland into what he did, and although we hope the damage can be reversed quicker than that, it can't happen in a fortnight.

Regardless of what other rides are there, Dreamland will be worth visiting this year just to ride the Scenic Railway- me, Charlie and Sam simply can't wait for it to open.

Hi Mattchewmann

Great to see a younger member on the forum supporting the campaign :D
Please do not let the fact that dreamland is not as invigorating at the moment stop you from visiting the park because it needs all the support it can get.

This is what happens when a bunch of money minded hooligans get their hands on something.
I am 17 and i think is very important for us younger generation to support the save dreamland campaign, after all we will benefit from it in the future years.

By the way, if you are reading this post Bob you have just been proven wrong yet again.
It is not just a bunch of fairground inthusiasts that what dreamland to return it is us younger generation aswell.

BRING DREAMLAND FUN PARK

BACK!

Exactly. Properly restored, Dreamland would be the gem of Margate if not all of Thanet.
Everyone should be able to see that.

The truth is Jim that waterbridge can see this very clearly even mr Godden himself.
But when the end profits can be higher once dreamand has been Built on they simply try to brainwash/persuade us into their way of thinking.

Just to let you know that apparently there are rumours Waterbridge will deliberately prevent Dreamland from being a success this year to make it seem unviable. These are urban myths-NOT TRUE. Instead they are doing everything in their powers to give it the best possible chance. George Webb will do the big things like pulling in operators, but Waterbridge will make sure the little things are seen to.

For example it is thought that the dragons on the Scenic scare small children, is why Waterbridge are thinking about going to the effort to get them chopped off. They can then auction them to the campaign to raise money for charity.

As John McEnroe would say "You cannot be serious!"

Those trains are historical - your comments are hysterical!
