Thanks to all concerned for the "rapid response" inclusion of all those great photo shots, and rather amusing caption comments, of the weekend. It looks like I should've returned again on the Sunday as I missed Mr Mansfield once again.

The weather was great on Saturday and surely aroused the masses to attend. I didn't know what to expect prior to attending (mainly owing to a total lack of pre-visit web reseach etc) but I must say that I was pleasantly surpriseed to see so many steam rollers etc.

I must say I thought I was in a certain daze when I caught sight of who I assumed to be none other than Colin Kiddell strolling towards me near the event entrance. I questioned myself, thinking it must have been a double or something. It seems I was not mistaken. I won't make any further comment on the grounds of decency, but I'm sure a few long-time members here have their own viewpoints on his past activities regarding the Scenic's 2003 operation.

It was great to hear how successful the weekend has been, and hopefully we can continue to spread the word with future events. (Roll on the Thanet disco??)

I think after the park is saved, we need to get one of the Scenic Railway's 2 parts-donor trains back on the rails.

It's like it was another fantastic two days at preston, it's a shame I couldn't go this year. But without a car there is no way I can get out that far from the station (or there is 1 as some figured last year but that was the longest walk ever).

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the weekend too.

Please please, ignore the awful pictures of me though, and as for Bert and Ernie; terrible behaviour!

Anyways, yes, I had a really great time. It was fantastic getting to chat to people about how they remember the park and how they want to see it return to it's glory days. Hence the massive number of sign ups there are!

I don't think I have ever learned so much in one weekend!
