The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.
nice video,
I love that ride and will always rank as my personal number 1 coaster in the whole world as my earliest memories of riding coasters are of this one, lets hope this never ends up facing the same fate of the Cyclone!
It's got a very long run, considering it only has one pull-up. I have never ridden it- on the one occasion I found myself in Great Yarmouth with time to spare, the park had closed for the season the day before
Apparently it operated in France for five years before being moved to the UK.
I drove back to London via Gt Yarnmouth to try the one historic woodie there that I hadnt yet ridden.
It was a disappointment. Not sure exactly what it was, but it just wasnt as fun as either the scenic @ margate, or ('Nash / Big Dipper / Roller Coaster / Wild Mouse) @ Blackpool...
And I got a very evil look from the brakeman for filming on-ride on my camera
