TextMargate - Did anyone receive a flicker book by mail?

Hi All,

I signed up on the TextMargate site pretty much as soon as it opened.

Just realised that one of the things I did was request a flicker book, to date nothing's arrived at my house.

Did anyone else who registered and asked for one get it ?

I did pick up a "Vanishing Scenic Flicker Book" (TM) from the helpful people in blue at Exodus weekend in the end, I'm mostly just curious as to how well maintained their list of people who want to be involved is.

Cheers

Paul.

p.s. Does anyone else find that the TextMargate site shows totally random weather every time you click the "Margate Weather" link?

Still waiting.

It arrived today :) I can now stop panicking about it's wellbeing

Probably took a bit longer than it should as they mangled the town in my address - moving me 60 miles away from where I live

Mine arrived last post before Christmas. They forgot the wrapping paper though.

I got mine just before Xmas, prehaps it was ploy for us all to be more interested in Xmas than how pants the flicker book was. :!:

Oh dear - is it really bad?

Well, from a firm which can't even carry out a basic consultation what can you expect!

I recall when I filled in the 'Text Margate' stuff re the 'consultation' I got a reply saying how interested Waterbridge was in my comments for Margate's future and how they would be in touch to discuss them...

Odd really, no-one has asked me again...

So if you are reading this Waterbridge - your consultation was worthless and a sham and I think could be described as dishonest, given that you are not an official body and own nothing in Margate town centre.

Dreamland wasn't mentioned in your waffly farce of a consultation.

I think under those circumstances if Thanet council takes any notice of it at all a complaint to the Ombudsman may be in order.

I don't think the "consultation" is complete yet.

Along with the flicker book was a letter explaining that there is to be a public meeting in the New Year.

No exact date was given but the letter promised that the details will appear both around Margate and on the textmargate website.

Ah yes - public meetings are all part of the planning process which is being gone through... no notice has to be taken of any representations made, there simply has to be a meeting to 'consult'... I have no doubt plans will be unveiled then.

Many of us don't live near to Margate though...

I must have been bored, but for anyone whose "Vanishing Scenic Flicker Book" (TM) has gone astray here's a link to the newly computerized version :

Flicker Book

It's about 500k so it may play a little slow the first time through, after that it's just like having the real thing.
