Hey all,
Not sure if anyone was around Margate yesturday but they had all Quad Bikes and Doom Buggys on the beach racing. They even shut off one of the roads along the sea front and had rides (Bungee). It all seemed quite busy and there was coaches all over the place, even if the weather was normal english weather.

You mean Dune Buggies (as in sand dunes)?
(Doom Buggies are the cars in The Haunted Mansion ride at Disney parks.)

Anyway, sounds like a blast.
2 or 3 events like this a month in conjunction with a restored Dreamland could mean serious income for the town.

Funnily enough I was passing through Margate last Saturday and was going to post reference this. If I hadn't had to make a family dinner appointment in Kingsgate I would've liked to have stopped and taken a few pictures. I only really noticed some motor/ track bikes myself but was quite surprised at the number of people around. Luckily the weather wasn't too bad at this time (around 1pm).

The sand seemed to have been "sculpted" into a race circuit by the mechanical diggers. Quite a sight; I don't think this would have been too welcome in the height of the Summer season though!

PS I didn't hear any pre-publicity for this event. Was it a first for Margate I wonder? - I'm probably a bit too out-of-range to hear anything as I guess things like this would only hit the very localised media.

Well I heard nothing at all about it and I was off to place some snooker when I saw it all going on. Havn't seen it down Margate before but I know alot of other places do it to get people coming into the town.
