Circus!

A circus has been set up at the rear of the Dreamland site, where the big wheel used to be, behind that lovely new fence!
I'm not sure how long it's been there or if Jimmy and Toby will be performing but I found it a little bit ironic. It's certainly a circus down there, in more ways than one.
Also re the fence appeal, now that wooden fence is in place all round the scenic and through the middle of the park, are they appealing to put the steel one back or to keep the wooden one?

Do they in fact know their rears from their elbows?

I think we've discussed before the possibility of having a section of Dreamland set aside for just this kind of changing venue.
Something happening - people will come. Properly beautified, Margate and Dreamland should be a hot spot.

I guess the circus' creature offer (not forgetting the food and drink ones) will be pivotal to the overall success of this coming season on the Dreamland site.
(Sorry, I just couldn't resist the above silly remark after reading Stuart's original comment regarding the circus' suggested performing artists)

PS I suppose I was thinking rather more "old school" circuses here

You're right about the good publicity angle Strongbow (my above comments were only meant to be "tongue in cheek" by the way). I didn't see anything on the local news though recently.
I notice from the circus website that they're only at Dreamland until tomorrow, then they move on to Ramsgate. Anyone going along? - maybe someone could post a report here for interest.
I hope the venture is successful.

Hi Martin,
On Thursday we travelled to Canterbury as leanne had an interview at the university and after we visited Margate and enjoyed our meal we decided to view the circus. We enjoyed the show very much, we found all the acts entertaining, there was a certain amount of audience participation which was amusing, the artistes were very talanted and worked very hard at all aspects of running the circus. We admired their skills and commitment. There was a raffle and during the interval the traditional popcorn which you so enjoy and tthere was miminal drenching even though we sat near the front. We thought a good time then we paid homage to the dear old Scenic before returning home.

Alan,
Good to hear you had a good time at the circus. I guess I will not have the time to go now (unless I really get my skates on!)
Was it very expensive by the way?

Martin,
The tickets cost £5 from the circus web site that stuart sent,
but more at the gate.

This kind of thing might have been a good opportunity, both a small circus and rides to fill the rest of the park for the whole season.
