Just found this promotional film clip for a German pop star featuring the old Dreamland Water Chute in its original guise at the infamous, now sadly defunct, Battersea Fun Fair. (The shots are towards the end of the video).

PS Memories for me there too as it was my childhood playground - you can also see their old Paratrooper ride and go carts too

PPS Just after the fairground shots watch out for the Rialto cinema signage promoting Dudley Moore & Peter Cook's classic film, "Bedazzled", ironically also featuring this same amusement park. (Guess that is a timedate reference for the period too -around 1967 I believe)

Was I supposed to take LSD before watching that?

The British Pathe archives are full of surprising material.

There's also a short news story on the mods and rockers lol. Just type "margate" or another local town into the search and be surprised.

I'm looking into the terms of use on the commercial license of the archive, then maybe some higher res bits and bobs mite just have to be submitted to south east today :p
