Slightly O/T: Famous Independent US Parks Being Sold

Postby porterm » 17 Dec 2007, 01:17

Hi all,

I heard about this development at the American Kennywood amusement park last week. Thought it might be of interest to us here as the park was independent and family owned, much like a certain "up North" UK park I could mention over here.

I have never got to visit Kennywood yet but it does have an old woodie called "The Racer" which is pretty famous, similar to our Grand National I believe. Oh, and a Noah's Ark attraction too, like our park "up North".

Hopefully the new Spanish park group operators will not transform the park's traditions too much. Interestingly, the park's opening a new dark ride for next season too!

* If this is too off topic please feel free to move it *

Martin
