Firstly, like a lot of forums, people here on this serious forum are lowering themselves to sarcasm, lame jokes and plain off-the-mark comments, so I wish you would all stick to the subject of saving Dreamland and Margate. I'm sure the council read all these types of forums, and will not take us seriously if we act like we're on Bebo or Facebook
.

As you say - this is your first time on this forum, seems to me that really you haven't much right to criticise anyone, and little understanding of the site dynamics and personalities, and I would suggest the EDIT button could be used to good effect.

I suggest you take the time to read the whole of the site, epecially the NEWS page, to catch up on what has been done and what has been so far achieved by the campaign. Read the plans for Dreamland, and the Planning Brief for the site. Dreamland is private land, not owned by the council, so what happens to it is not totally in its control.

I am also sure that a further donation to the cause and the saving of the water chute would be of benefit, so if you feel so strongly you could do as many of us have and stump up a bit of cash.

Also is an important week of the the ownership of the site which obviously is so important again to us all. next year come next summer we could either be riding old fab rides or sleeping in a budget high rise crap hotel overlooking two people sunbathing on beach eating a stale doughnut with not a beer ( because its all shut or burnt down or shut down). :(

A lot of people out a great deal of serious time and effort into this campaign - we all deserve some light relief now and again as long as it doesn't swamp the campaign.

Also, most people here know each other above the level of ordinary Forum perimeters and generally have worked together in some capacity on this campaign for several years at least, hence the text can be quite informal and jovial to a degree. The serious literature and campaing history/stratagies can be found on other parts of the website so infrequent off-topic "banter" takes nothing away from what we are all trying to acheive.

Anyhow, I appreciate your point of view if it wasn't purely to provoke reaction and welcome to the Forum.

There was more - that was only a small part.

Hopefully the OP has read the rest of the site by now and is a little wiser about the campaign, what it has achieved, the council, planning issues, and Dreamland.

Whilst the above certainly wasn't subtle as an early part of a first forum post there was indeed more to this post before the original poster deleted it after EAS posted. The bulk of it was aimed at TDC and from someone who obviously had the best interests of Margate at heart - the original topic heading was "Are TDC for real?"

Whilst some of their suggestions were perhaps simplistic in terms of what has already been tried I don't think they deserved the reaction they got.

Hopefully the OP has read the rest of the site by now and is a little wiser about the campaign, what it has achieved, the council, planning issues, and Dreamland.

If I'd got a welcome like that to my first post I certainly wouldn't have wanted to look around more and stay on the forum.

Perhaps we could take more care in welcoming new members rather than focusing on the negatives.

I think it's embarrassing that this is at the top of the forum and as such I'm locking it. Anyone with any concerns over this mail or PM me.
