Firstly, like a lot of forums, people here on this serious forum are lowering themselves to sarcasm, lame jokes and plain off-the-mark comments, so I wish you would all stick to the subject of saving Dreamland and Margate. I'm sure the council read all these types of forums, and will not take us seriously if we act like we're on Bebo or Facebook

There was more - that was only a small part.

Whilst the above certainly wasn't subtle as an early part of a first forum post there was indeed more to this post before the original poster deleted it after EAS posted. The bulk of it was aimed at TDC and from someone who obviously had the best interests of Margate at heart - the original topic heading was "Are TDC for real?"

Whilst some of their suggestions were perhaps simplistic in terms of what has already been tried I don't think they deserved the reaction they got.

Hopefully the OP has read the rest of the site by now and is a little wiser about the campaign, what it has achieved, the council, planning issues, and Dreamland.

If I'd got a welcome like that to my first post I certainly wouldn't have wanted to look around more and stay on the forum.

Perhaps we could take more care in welcoming new members rather than focusing on the negatives.

I think it's embarrassing that this is at the top of the forum and as such I'm locking it. Anyone with any concerns over this mail or PM me.

Well, maybe you should have sent me a PM if you felt it out of order, but a public wrist slapping was not a great idea. I don't think I deserved the reaction I got...

Pots and kettles spring to mind.

Maybe an ex-Dreamland supporter now.

Let's all take a breath here.

The written (inflectionless) words of a first time poster that have since been deleted should be no reason for ANYONE here to be getting upset.

I run a message board with an average daily post count of 139. Yes, almost 140 posts per day. Occasionally something's misread and tempers flare, but we're all friends over there and a simple reminder of that usually sets things straight.

Quite honestly, I'm sure EAS feels a little protective of what goes on here as do I. Suspect posts should simply be removed.
We don't allow anyone to post anything controversial until they've provided a name, location, and an e-mail address. This seems to keep the flamers, trolls, and spammers away.

I feel a little protective of myself too - not sure I deserved this wrist slap!
