Isle of Thanet Gazette

Deamland made the front page headline of the Isle of Thanet Gazette this week. The article named the french company that wants to buy the site. It also said that the council are looking at changing the whole emphasis of the seafront and turn it into a "cafe culture" and change the road access. It continued to say that discussions are at "an early stage" but that some members of the council had been to France to talk with the owners of the park.

The feel of the article was very upbeat, and sounded rather in contrast to the councils response to the draft local plan published recently.

Nick/Sarah, I wonder how talks are going and is there any good news on the horizon?

PS I do not have the techy knowhow to scan the page and put it on the site, so if anyone does, they could email me if they wanted to do it.

Sarah has seen the article and we have put a short item about it on the website.

Things are at a sensitive stage at the moment with the French theme park operator, so I can't say too much. We have had several meetings with them and things are heading in the right direction. What I can say is that they are still very committed to coming to Margate, and their ideas for Dreamland are exciting. There is, however, a long way to go and a lot of work still to be done.

Don't expect an announcement in the short term, but as soon as we hear anything, we will post it on the News page.
