Miniature Railway?

Hello there,
I have just been looking over the new masterplan for the Dreamland site, and notice that the Dreamland 15" Miniature Railway seems to have disappeared from the masterplan, but it is still listed in the 'rides' section?
Has the miniature railway been removed, or is it still a part of the plans for the future?
Ben

I suspect it/one hasn't been located yet.

Well spotted!
I can confirm that, since the Sunday event, the miniature railway has been reinstated. There will be a miniature railway in the proposal.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for confirming that, I look forward to seeing it
Any chance of it being the original locomotive 'Billie' returning?

That is the plan. We have tracked Billie down and will do everything we can to bring him back to Dreamland.

Brilliant! I look forward to seeing her back if you do sucessfully get her! I won't ask about the chances of getting back the original Bassett-Lowke coaches aswell

I doubt the Railway Inspectorate would approve the old type of coaches. As this would effectively be a new build, there will probably be quite a few problems getting a usable railway approved.

As a budding model engineer I am pleased to hear the railway is back in the plans. If there is a rota for voulenteer drivers, please put me down I already drive minature live steam, diesel and electric locos!

Would it need to be approved by the Railway Inspectorate? I would have thought it would be covered by ADIPS.

Another question for nick-is there going to be space kept for the future especcially with all the rumours about some of blackpools rides possibly being scrapped in the future

Without looking it up, I think 350mm is the cutoff for HMRI involvement. If the gauge is less than that then it would come under ADIPS, but a 15" gauge railway, if that's what the gauge is to be, would probably come under the HMRI, unless some kind of opt-out could be negotiated.
Maybe a 10 1/4 gauge railway would be better for Dreamland, under the circumstances.

We are leaving space for future ride acquisitions. Jean-Marc's layout has been carefully designed with that in mind.
