Dreamland Remembered book sold out

Postby Nick Evans » 30 Dec 2003, 21:40

If you have bought - or have been given for Christmas - a copy of my book Dreamland Remembered then I sincerely hope you have enjoyed reading it and accept my thanks for purchasing. At present I have now run out of copies but please ask Nick L in case he has any left thru Joyland Books.

I would hope to publish a second edition of the book once the future of Dreamland has been decided - one way or another - so that details can be included of the outcome.

I hope Nick won't mind me adding that come the Spring I hope to produce a limited edition set of eight postcards depicting Dreamland posters from the 1950s and early 1960s. If this is of interest to you, please email me at nickevans@talk21.com. I can also provide details of the Dreamland souvenir mugs too.

Happy New year to all in the Save Dreamland Campaign.

Dreamland Remembered Book Sold Out

Postby porterm » 31 Dec 2003, 03:45

Hello Nick,

I was very pleased to read that your book has completely sold out. Luckily I bought my copy early last month at the European Coaster Club's AGM at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (or "Pleasure Beach Blackpool" as it appears to have been unfortunately rechristened).

This must surely be the perfect accolade for what is a truly well presented, and documented book. It would be interesting to know the actual number of sales that were achieved.

I expect this to be my last posting of 2003, so let me wish everyone on the campaign a very happy and healthy 2004. Let us hope that there will be further significant positive developments in the Dreamland regeneration saga.

A wonderful book Nick, I ordered it through Joyland the day it was announced and received it a day or two before it was officially launched.

I have made no attempt to keep it in "collectors" condition. It now looks exactly like it is- a broken-spined, dirty-thumbed, well-read book.

Let us know if you publish another, I will be the first in the queue.

I bought a copy in the WHSmiths in Margate when I visited Dreamland in November. A fantastic read, brought back many happy memories, thank you.
