Sarah, I am unaware of your age so am therefore unable to accurately equate it with an amusement park ride of the same year as I did with Nick recently.

I will take my own life into my hands and take a guess from your appearance from photos I have seen....

Congratulations Sarah, you are as old as The Avalanche at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Image

The Avalanche was officially opened by Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards.

Each of the trains climb 59 feet before reaching speeds of up to 46 mph along the 1,460 foot track.

....The opening of Heinrich Mack's Avalanche at the Park could not have been timed better....

It was 1988, the year of the winter Olympics and the Pleasure Beach was sponsoring the British bobsleigh team... :)

All the best from the heart of Costa St Helens

Gary

Thank you everyone. It's about time Min joined the Campaign, she's had two years of free time - time for work!

Gary, that really made me laugh. When guessing a woman's age, everyone knows you should always be cautious and go a bit younger than you actually think....wiping five years off will normally ensure you don't get lumped...but 1988! I was 18 in 1988!!! That's taking cautious to a whole new level!

I guess it's always polite to say someone looks 21... :D

Anyway, rather 21 than your real age which is actually 1 year older than...

..The Goldmine!!

..A ride that is now only working at weekends but up until last week was standing but not operational! :D

Sorry Sarah, missed wishing you a happy day!

But hey, treat every day as a birthday is my view. That way there's always an excuse for a drink...
