If you look through that list you will see that Thanet is already on there.

Well that's good so far, although Thanet covers a wider area than just Margate. Anything doing re Dreamland?

Ok well that money was for Margate but its not relevant to Dreamland and I dont have time to type every article about what happens in Margate. As its not relevant to the plans for the park it hasn't appeared on this site.

Bit of creative thinking, and an empty shop...

The empty shop with the fish display shown in that article is in the Shopping Arcade just off Margate High Street.

Unless much has changed since this post last year (http://www.joylandbooks.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1696&highlight=&sid=cd4073b32f493a5c9591261ad9e3f618) then that Shopping Arcade is owned by MTCRC.

It would be a nice gesture of their support both for their Dreamland Plans and the Arcade if MTCRC put a Dreamland Exhibition in there - even if at their own cost, but let's just say I'm not going to hold my breath waiting!

Indeed... I can't think it would cost so very much to mount...

Interesting and thought-provoking reading, allied to some good pics.

As you all know we are working at a very rapid pace with all the parties involved and you can be assured items such as the shops and displays are part of the conversations.
MTCRC have been very helpful in these discussions but it is all part of the development work and we have some some distance to go to bring everything together.
Nick has previously posted about the skills brought to the table by MTCRC
and after spending a long day in London yesterday at meetings I can strongly endorse what he said as it was a great help to me in moving forward for the Dreamland Trust.

Excellent news Susan, thanks for that. I do think possibly it's time we (campaign supporters) thought carefully that maybe times have changed and some people are positively partnering (and the Turner, too, is going ahead and campaign members at large need to consider it could also be a positive partner).

Shop windows are always a way of getting information out and keeping up interest, as well as making those empty shop windows seem more attractive!

And if cash is available... although we all appreciate how hard the 'team' is working, possibly the council could find some PR time and a person to put this together?

Im well aware that MTCRC own retail space in the town, all im saying is this is about saving Dreamland and we cannot put a link or a news item regarding everything that happens in Margate or everything that MTCRC are involved in.

Which we have. And shared views and information.

Frankly, I thought it was part of saving Dreamland.

Whats with the Mr Grumpy? Just stating a fact thats all. We dont have a town centre and retail forum so I dont see the point your trying to get across here ?

Then go and have a loooong think about how this opportunity could relate to Dreamland.

It's called lateral thinking.

And also consider that Dreamland doesn't exist in a vacuum, it's got to be part of a wider regeneration / rebranding of Margate; all parts of the jigsaw.

Empty shops, empty shops with government funding to use, shop windows, display, publicity opportunity.
