there is a new film in the pics that opened last night called adventureland. It looks like there is a lot of footage from being filmed on location at kennywood, including a mini whip like dreamland aquired.I might watch it tonight and see what other classic rides are featured.

I've seen it. The film is so-so, the only interest is the location (I'm a big Kennywood fan myself).

i agree the film is poor and its only saving grace is the location,It would be good if dreamland could be turned into a classic attraction like this as slowly blackpool pleasure beach is slowly turning away from the similarities it had with kennywood (they were very much like twin parks on the other side of the atlantic)

Hi all

I have to admit I've been looking forward to viewing this film, especially as it's been promoted in various formats at my local Cineworld, however, after all this it's rather surprisingly not being shown yet. Hopefully the Rochester location will run it next week or I will find its pre-publicity quite perplexing.

Anything with the likes of Ryan Reynolds in is normally quality in my book, and being made by the people behind Superbad, I thought would've given it some credibility. Maybe if Sandra Bullock could have been persuaded to partake things may have been a little different.

I will not prejudge the film yet though, until I can hopefully see it. Looks like I might have to travel a little though. Apparently Kennywood was deliberately made to look like a rather dingy run-down park just for the movie. Sadly, the film's storyline does not appear to do the amusement park industry's general image many favours.
