Clamping operations in Dreamland car oark

I've been reading on one of the less hysterical Thanet blogspots about certain car clamping practices in Dreamland car park of late. While apparently legal and above board, the activity, in my humble opinion, smacks of sharp practice and is well worthy of wider exposure. Certainly, this kind of activity does little to enhance the reputation of the Dreamland name and what is being planned to regenerate the site.

Readers may care to follow this link and judge for themselves: thanetstrife.blogspot.com/ and scroll down to the entry for Monday 22 March or even go to the local BBC news site and see its coverage of the issue.

Yep, the clampers at Dreamland are right on it, I won't even park until I have bought a ticket, they will clamp a car while the owner is walking to the machine to buy a ticket.

I had my truck clamped at Clacket Lane, my boss came out with an angle grinder and we cut the clamp off in full view of the clampers, there has never been a prosecution for criminal damage for cutting off a private clamper's clamp.

What they do would be illegal in Scotland, should be here too.

Sometimes you have to walk around all of the machines before you find one that works.

Call the local news and have them do a story on it. Complain to the local police for detaining your vehicle illegally.
