ACE's Scenic Donation

Just seen the wonderful news that the American Coaster Enthusiasts have donated $5000 to the restoration of the Scenic Railway.

I've recently been on another US trip staying in Washington DC and I managed to encounter quite a few of ACE's plaques outside some prominent coasters like Kings Dominion's Rebel Yell classic twin track out and back woodie and Rye Playland's Dragon Coaster near New York (you actually go through a dragon's mouth before a turnaround). This park had some classic old rides, including a Derby Racer similar to Blackpool's and a Mill water ride which was built underneath the aforementioned coaster (both circa 1928 I believe, when the park launched).

I did take quite a few photos at Playland, and I know I've said it before, but I'll try my best to get them up here somehow.

Hey Kyle - where u been? (I know we all seem to busier than ever these days; where did that freedom vision evaporate to I wonder?)

Well, I was so impressed with ACE's generosity I've just taken out a 6 month trial membership. Actually, I just really wanted some eyeglass restrainers for my crazy upcoming 2 hour "test" session in preparation for a 24 hour marathon on Toverland's woodie called Troy, scheduled for Sept 11. (I somehow hope they can change that date).

I suggest a few people here could follow suit and lend ACE some further support at www.aceonline.org

Regards
