Has any restoration work begun on the "Big Wheel" that was stored at Carters last year?

Are you offering volunteer services? That would be great!

Not as far as I am aware although restoration should be starting soon.

Let me know if there is a chance to help. Carters are only just down the road from me, and I am pretty handy with an electricians screwdriver.
Not too bad with engineering subjects these days either.
For the cause I could even be persuaded to operate a paint brush.
Vince.

There'll be a lot of bearing replacements and such I suppose. They'll all have to be looked at and it might prove easier just to replace all such components, thereby renewing it mechanically. It's those moving parts that need to be up to snuff for safety and inspections.
Hopefully the electrical end is in good shape. Aside from the motors and stuff, if there's a lot of decorative lighting and such, that'll all need to be gone over, too.
Electrical supply companies may be willing to donate lamps and such if other parts are sourced through them. Always worth looking into.
Not that surfaces and paint aren't important. That's all time consuming and expense-generating, too.
