The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Space travel was certainly in vogue in the year this ride first made an appearance at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. :D

Thanks for your messages and for reminding me yet again that I am a year older (I will only confirm that I am older than 30, and anyone who watched Doctor Who on Saturday would get another big clue as to the year I was born)!

It is great that the council is continuing to back the Dreamland project and we will work with them to get this show on the road as soon as we possibly can. Dreamland sometimes seems like an endless roller coaster with no station to get on and off, but this announcement is another major hurdle crossed. We shall keep moving forward!
