wow. Is that what they are going to look like when they are remounted?
Very impressive.
I would however have been interested to see the original 1930's signage up again but I guess that is long gone, plus I remember reading that the current letters can't be removed permanently due to the buildings listed status or something along those lines.

They do look amazing though!

I'm saying this in very small letters,and a quiet voice, but one day I hope the original style of neon lighting can be re-installed.

It was a very important part of cinema design of the period and so much of this lighting has been lost...

Eas i take it the original style was the one with the neon light on the outside,Boness hippodrome still has its original which was restored prior to the cinemas reopening.Next time im in the area i will take pictures of it

Regal bathgate was converted into a community theatre when it closed as a cinema,the alhambra ive never passed even though ive been in dunfermline quit a lot.Boness i am planning to go and see a film with the family as i want to take chloe to what i class as an old worldie cinema,of which there are fewer about

We have the electric in birmingham that is a nice civilised venue. It is amazing looking at the old archive picture how much was added on to the hippodrome.

It is when you look how it was modified over the years,its a miracle it survived its dereliction as there was at least one small arson fire inside.At least its still here now and fully restored to what it used to be!!!
