Restoration of Rides

Postby Peet » 13 Nov 2012, 20:21

This is a topic to pick up on a piece of really positive news in the November newsletter - that the Heritage Lottery Fund has granted permission to begin work which will include, among other things, off-site restoration of rides. A new Historic Rides Consultant, Michael Smith, has also been announced.

It's really exciting to know that restoration of the Whip, Caterpillar etc etc will be going ahead soon regardless of the ongoing legal battle and I look forward to seeing updates on progress in the coming months.

I have been to Dingles recently and I decided that if I retire anywhere near there I will try to volunteer there. Mind you I did send them a message along those lines and didn't get a reply. Ok so not so good on the communication front but the standard of their restoration is excellent.

Even more of a shame they didn't get back to me then.

I have skills in engineering and electrics/electronics and more. I am probably the only person on this forum with a home made full sized radio controlled dalek!
